The photographs on this site are licensed from their authors, not taken by us. Each one is credited on the page it appears on, and the full record is below.

How the images are used

Images are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and reused under the licence the author published them with — Creative Commons Attribution, Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike, or public domain. Each has been resized to 1600 pixels wide and re-encoded to WebP; no other alteration has been made.

The credit line under each photograph names the photographer and links to the original file page, where the licence text and full author string are visible. If you believe a credit is wrong or an image should not be here, the contact page explains how to raise it.

Adding a photograph

Every image must have an entry in docs/images-manifest.json before it can appear on a page: the file will not render without a recorded licence and author, so an uncredited picture cannot ship by accident.
